Rollerskates & Breakfast Dates was originally a printed diary comic I made, which has now continued in online form. It's pretty much just about whatever amusing things are happening in my life - a genetically engineered hybrid of a "Gag of the Week" and Diary comic.
Sort of. I change up dialogue and situations for narrative simplicity and joke emphasis, but it's not a fictional comic.
When I began drawing the printed comic, Ryan (my partner) requested to be drawn as a bear rather than a human. I thought it would be a fun element, so I... did it? Not really much of a story, sorry!
When I was first starting out with this webcomic, I wanted it to be as easy as possible, so I just posted it on facebook and tumblr. When I got close to 100 strips and realised I was still going, I decided to move to a more centralised site that was actually, you know, mine. But I didn't relish the idea of moving all 100 previous strips across (plus, some of my art from two years ago makes my heart sad) so I decided to start from #100 on this site.
But don't worry if you're a completionist and want to start from the very beginning - just check out the "Older Archives" tab and you can download handy-dandy PDFs of my old work. Yay!
I'm so glad you asked, lovely reader! I have an etsy store for buying physical copies of my books as well as stickers and other fun stuff.
You can also currently download PDFs of some of my books and older webstrips from the "Older Archives" tab. The downloads are free, but I would ask you to give me a financial donation if you're able to - although I distribute the comics for free they take me many hours to produce. You can send me a paypal donation via the link below or from the "Older Archives" tab.
I also have a Patreon where you can support me monthly in exchange for early access to comics and other goodies. Find it at: https://www.patreon.com/mjwallace
